Tiffany Burke
Tiffany Crosswhite, a native of Lake Oswego, Oregon, is a former Professional Figure Skater and Competitive Figure Skating Coach. Tiffany’s passion for skating began over 25 years ago when her mother took her to see the Ice Capades. As a young child she was mesmerized by the lights, music and skating and dreamed one day she would perform on such a stage. Tiffany’s childhood dream became reality when she toured with Ice Capades and Disney on Ice from 1996 to 2000. After retiring from the show circuit Tiffany began coaching competitive skating. At that time she began looking for an off-ice training program for her young athletes. Since most of Tiffany’s students ranged from 10-16 years of age she wanted a training program that would be gentle on a growing body, but still improve muscle strength, coordination and flexibility. Tiffany found Pilates to be the best all around training program for both herself and her young athletes.
During the summer of 2006 Tiffany and her family relocated from Oregon to Utah. Tiffany viewed her move to Utah not only as a fresh start in life but as an opportunity to grow a new business. After receiving her Pilates certification through Core Dynamics (under the direction of Michele Larsson) she began teaching out of her house but quickly outgrew the tiny spare bedroom. In March of 2007 she opened Poise & Strength Pilates Studio.
In 2010 Tiffany founded Crosswhite Pilates Teacher Training Program to pass on the legacy of Pilates to new teachers. Even though Tiffany herself is a former professional athlete and enjoys the fitness side to Pilates, she believes new teachers must first learn and fully understand the traditional method of Pilates. Tiffany’s main objective is to produce “thinking” teachers who can blend both the old world of Pilates with the demands of today’s fitness driven world.
In 2016 Tiffany opened her second studio in Draper, Utah named Studio Core Pilates featuring a new Pilates style she created known as Flow Dynamics Pilates. Flow Dynamics Pilates is intelligently choreographed contemporary reformer exercise sequences stemming from the classical work. Each dynamic "flow" strengthens the entire body in every direction gracefully with minimal stopping, starting, spring changes or equipment changes. Clients loved this unique approach to Pilates. Tiffany began sharing her new Pilates style on social media to promote her new studio only to discover interest from Pilates teachers all over the world. Today Tiffany teaches Flow Dynamics Pilates workshops all over the world and would love to bring her "flows" to your studio.
Tiffany limits her workshop travels to two weekends per month as she is married with two young children. Tiffany and her husband, David were married 2014. Their first child, Lucy was born later that year. Ricky, their son was born just 18 months after Lucy. Life is crazy for the Burke family but together, as a team, they make it work.
